CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS!!!!!!!!
My name is Chloe and I am 9 years old and I live in New Jersey. Once things I think I did to help someone is to be their friend when no one else would. My friend Charlie is special needs. He moved to our area 2 years ago. When I first meet him I was scarred to talk to him because I didn't know if he was nice or mean. When I noticed no one would play with him on the play ground I invited him to play with me. He was very happy. It made me feel happy inside because I like to see other people be happy. Every since then me and Charlie were good friends. After people saw me and him playing they started to play with him too. This made him even more happy. I was very sad because Charlie moved away this summer. I will miss him very much. It makes me happy to know that I made him happy while he was here.I always like to be friends with people that don't have any friends because everyone should feel special.

One Little Thing
“Lemonade! Lemonade! Please help victims of Hurricane Ike.” These were the words my friends and I shouted at our lemonade stand on September 18, 2008 to raise money for Save the Children Foundation’s Hurricane Ike Fund.
It all started last summer when my mom and I created a volunteer group called Kids for Causes. Five friends and I meet each month to do something for others. When we heard about Hurricane Ike, we wanted to help children who were affected. Our idea was to have a lemonade stand to raise as much money as we could. We advertised the lemonade stand around our neighborhood and at our school. We sold lemonade, cookies and muffins. In just one hour we raised over $750! After additional donations came pouring in, we were able to send a check for $2,000 to the Save the Children foundation. My friends and I felt so good about what we had done. It was extremely rewarding.
I think that helping someone in need is one of the greatest things you can do. Just six kids made a difference. If each person does one little thing for someone else, imagine what an amazing place the world would be.
